Conversion Crew's Hubdates - July

Written by Sofia Silva | 7 August 2024

The summer months are flying by, but even then HubSpot is not sitting still. The past month has brought some cool new updates! If you feel like you missed them, no worries, we list them all in this blog. That way you won't have to scavenge after your holidays and you'll be up-to-date right away.

Apply taxes on line items

This new feature came to make the use of products in HubSpot even better. It is now possible to create and manage your tax rates on a tax library to then associate them with individual line-items.

By accessing the product settings and being a Super Admin in your portal, you are able to add all the taxes your business uses. After adding this amount to your line-item, it will be reflected on the sub-totals. This is the perfect use case if you work with different currencies or different tax amounts for different countries.

Pro tip: Add the Tax Rate and the Tax Amount columns into your line-item overview and then make use of these values for lists, reporting and automation.

Workflows Conversion Reporting

Automation reports can be very insightful and helpful in understanding the effectiveness and influence of your workflows in your automation strategies, consequently improving your business plan.

By turning on the tracking performance workflow feature, you have access to new insights such as:

  • Total enrollment count
  • Percentage of enrollments that reached endpoint
  • Percentage that continued along each branch point
  • Count of enrollments due to each action

These aggregate counts and conversion percentages are available from the moment you turn the tracking performance toggle on, and will only include enrollments that happened after this switch was done.

Note: This feature is only available for Enterprise Hubs. Read more about it here.

AI powered Gibberish Spam Detection in form submissions

We all take into account data quality and integrity when working within our HubSpot portal, so when new features can help us achieve this goal even faster, we are all in for it! This new Beta helps identity spam form submissions through the contact properties first and last name and even message properties.

Everyone is aware that spam form submissions are one of the main causes of polluted data, specially the gibberish type, to quickly submit a form.
After one of these form submissions is categorized as spam, it is possible to open the spam submission tool and check all the details about this submission. There is then the possibility to review and decide whether to maintain it in our portal or to delete them automatically. 🚨 If no action is taken, the submission will be automatically deleted after 90 days.

This is a major improvement to grant a cleaner portal. If combined with the re-CAPTCHA default form feature, we are moving towards a better quality database.

Data Sync - Test your sync before activation

Data sync is a very powerful way to migrate data from a third-party system to HubSpot. For such a big and definite decision, it is important to make sure all data is well mapped in order to be perceived in HubSpot just the way we want to.

This Beta, available for all hubs and tiers, allows you to simulate and preview the whole data sync process before going live with it. This will help you ensuring accuracy in all the mappings and allowing you to adjust any settings, if needed.

When you're about to make a new connection, test this by making a one-way sync from the third-party application to HubSpot and choose to run a test sync. This will give you a result preview, including some of the following metrics:

  • Total number of records
  • Overview of potential errors
  • Amount of errors to be potentially excluded from the sync

After reviewing and filtering all the records you want to target, you're ready to start your sync safely! Read more about it and join the Beta.
